Your skin
Oh yeah your skin and bones
Turn into something beautiful
You know you know I love you so

Can we just both go back to those days, those days when I grab your hand and just walk away from the group? Talk about how your day went, talk about the most random things. I miss those days when we try to hide from your father because he didn’t want you to have a boyfriend but when the time came when he saw us together, holding hands, you didn’t let go of me and just introduce me to him, that day I would never forget. Finally, someone stood up for me.
I love how you talked to me like everything seems final. I love how, back then, I could relax ‘cause at the end of the day, it’s you waiting for me. I love how you didn’t care about everyone talking about us. I love how my parents always asked about you during dinner and how you would always tell me how enthusiastic your relatives are to meet me.
I miss your smile that greets me every time our eyes meet. I miss your tiny hands and how you wouldn’t care about how my sweaty hands were and just hold them tight.
Remember the time when we sat beside each other during a field trip? You held my hand so tight and told me you would never let go. You never let go, I did. And I’m sorry but I want you to know that I miss every bit of you. Now, I just want you back but I guess you’ve already forgotten the reason you loved me before.
The things I miss most with distance are hands.

MANILA, Philippines—Sixteen-year-old Raigene Ivee Busi, a high-school senior, and her younger sister, Raivene, were on their way to their classes at the UP Integrated School when they were struck by a speeding motorcycle on December 17 in Quezon City.
Raivene escaped with minor injuries but Raigene has been confined since the day of the accident at the surgery intensive care unit of the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) due to the seriousness of her condition.
Her father, Raymundo, said that doctors had to remove her pancreas and spleen because both organs were severely damaged as a result of the accident. She also developed an infection in her kidneys and lungs, which prompted doctors to put her on a respirator to help her breathe.
Her other injuries include a broken collarbone, two broken bones in her left arm and rib fractures. Raymundo, an administrative assistant at PGH who is the sole breadwinner in the family following the death of his wife several years back, is appealing for assistance from Inquirer readers.
So far, the hospital has billed him P200,000 for Raigene’s care and he says he does not know where he will get the money to pay for it. Raymundo can be contacted at 0919-4610592.
Donations can also be coursed through his DBP bank account (account name Raymundo Busi with account number 5034384100).
